Residents are encouraged to tune-in to the first West Maui Greenway Community Meeting on Tuesday, January 11 from 5pm - 6:30pm!
The West Maui Greenway is a proposed, 25-mile multi-use trail that will transform the abandoned cane haul road into a recreational ribbon that will one day connect Ukumehame and Lipoa Point.
The trail will provide a safe, family-friendly place in West Maui, Hawaii for residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors away from heavy traffic on the Honoapiilani Highway. It would offer a safer way for bike commuters to travel to and from destinations in West Maui, helping to remove cars from the road and
The project is finally moving forward and Maui MPO is now developing a Master Plan that will develop a consistent brand for the greenway, a preferred route alignment, proposed trail types, and implementation strategies to move the project to the next state of development.
Maui MPO will be introducing the Master Plan in an upcoming virtual community meeting. Maui residents and frequent visitors are encouraged to attend to learn more about this project and show their support for better biking on Maui.
